The potential size of the Chinese market place, for semiconductor and electronics related products, is huge.

There are over 1.3 billion people in China. If just half of the population decided to buy a cell phone, or could afford the latest generation of television sets, stereos and the myriad of other consumer electronic products that the rest of the world already enjoys, there would be a market developed larger than most of us could ever imagine. With less than 10% of the Chinese cell phone market tapped, the number of cell phones in use already exceeds the number of cell phones being used in the United States, and China’s chip demand is five times greater than what can be filled internally.
